Do you need help paying for home repair classes?

HRRC’s mission is to assist homeowners to maintain sustainable communities, and that means ALL homeowners. To ensure everyone has equal access to our home repair classes, we provide 4 discounts—two are limited to residents of Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights and two are open to residents of all communities.

  • 25% discount, available to residents of Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights
  • 63% discount, available to Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights residents who income qualify
  • 50% discount, available to residents of any community who income qualify
  • 100% discount, available to residents of any community who income qualify

What does it mean to “income qualify”? We use federal income guidelines to determine eligibility.  For example, if your annual household income for a family of 4 is between $24,250 and $52,900, you qualify for a 50% discount.  If you live in Cleveland Heights, that discount increases to 63%.  If your annual household income for 4 people is less than $24,250, you qualify for a 100% discount—FREE workshops.

How do you see if you qualify? We have a simple application you can complete on our website.  Your information is kept confidential and secure; we notify you within two business days whether you’ve qualified and the amount of your discount.

What documentation do you need to provide? None.  We take you at your word.  For all income discounts, we reserve the right to ask for supporting documentation should the need arise, but you don’t need to submit anything with your application.

How long does the discount last? Your discount lasts for one year.  We contact you towards the end of the year to verify your information and extend the discount, if you qualify.

How do you use the discount? Browse the classes we offer on our website, and your discount will be applied automatically when you register.
