There are very few electrical repairs that will not require a permit in most communities, so you can assume that one will be needed.\u00a0 If the contractor tells you one isn\u2019t required \u2013 call your city\u2019s building department and check yourself<\/i> to verify that fact.\u00a0 DON\u2019T get the permit yourself.\u00a0 When the contractor gets it, he\/she will then be responsible to the city for doing the work to code.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0 Ask if he\/she is licensed and bonded in your city.<\/b><\/p>\n
